These are a great appetizer for a holiday party. They are sweet & savory (and if you add the chili oil) spicy, all in one bite! My daughter Maggie likes the pears cut on the thinner side so she can add it to her favorite seeded crackers. I like it cut into more of a wedge so I can bite into the juicy pears.

A few tips before we get started. I like to cut the prosciutto slices into 1/3rds. Add about 1 teaspoon of goat cheese smeared onto one side of the pear, then wrap the prosciutto around the pear slice. With that said, you can cut the prosciutto slices in half so you have a little more, and add double the cheese. It’s a very flexible recipe and cooking times won’t change. Do be sure to keep the cheese out at room temperature for 1 hour, so it spreads easily and doesn’t crumble when spread.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Cut each pear into 8-10 lengthwise pieces. Cut out the seeds from each piece. Prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet. Smear 1 teaspoon or more of goat cheese on one side of the pear slice, and wrap a piece of prosciutto around. Place it onto the baking sheet. Repeat this with all the slices. You’ll have 16-20 pieces, depending how thin you sliced them.

Next, drizzle some honey onto each slice. Add a sprinkle of the walnuts so they stick to the honey.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Serve warm and add a little drizzle of chili oil.

Enjoy. These will be a big hit at your holiday party.
