Every morning I start my day with a creamy shake. The options are limitless. Sometimes I add Dose & Co. collagen powders for added protein and collagen, sometimes I use my friend, Brooke Burke’s superfood blend Longevity by Brooke Burke, sometimes I add tahini, or almond butter, and sometimes yogurt. I like the added protein after a long workout. Here is one of my favorite shakes.
Making Your Own Frozen Strawberries.
This is super simple. Rinse the strawberries, it’s a good idea to choose organic otherwise they carry a lot of pesticides, cut off the stem, and place onto a baking sheet (that will fit in the freezer.) Let the strawberries freeze solid, and then toss in a bag. Use them for this recipe. You can do the same with any fruit. Especially a good idea when fruit is in season in your area!
In a high-speed blender, add about 15 whole strawberries, banana (to make it creamy), yogurt, vanilla, coriander, and blend until smooth. If you have a small blender, do it in 2 batches. If you are using fresh fruit in lieu of frozen, add ice.
Swirl in 1 tablespoon of yogurt on the sides of glasses. Pour shake and enjoy!
Options: Feel free to make it more like a parfait. In this case, use a shorter and wider-mouthed glass, pour a little of the shake into the glass, add some yogurt, and top with more shake and add some fresh fruit. You can still sip it but might need a long spoon to scoop up any fruit and yogurt. Granola works here too! I have a granola recipe on my blog.
Delicious and nutritious.
