This recipe is great for a quick supper. It will take about 30 minutes. Always start with fresh ground meat. Here are the directions.
Heat a few drizzles of olive oil in a large frying pan. Once it heats up add the ground meat to it and break up chunks with a spoon as it cooks. In the meantime, dice a medium onion. A little trick I learned with onions is take off the peel, and always leave the stem intact. Slice the onion in half and cut into tiny chunks, leaving the stem in tack until the very end, and no more tears!!! It really works!! Add the onion to the frying pan and let that cook with the meat.
Then, once the onions are translucent, add a few squeezes of tomato paste, and the tomato sauce. You can add your spices at this time too: salt, pepper, and paprika. The brown sugar you can add in now as well. Let all these flavors mix together and cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. The sauce will become rich and thick and the meat will be very tender and have a sweet taste. If you prefer a little kick, you can add the chili powder.
