Holiday Centerpiece

Holiday Center pieceFor the focal point of my dining room table I use an assortment of candles of varying sizes, and cut fresh greens from around my yard. If you are seating everyone around the table, it’s best to keep your arrangement low so everyone can see each other from across the table.  Otherwise, if you are doing buffet style and everyone is moving around the room, you can go high with your arrangement as you see in this photo. Cutting fresh greens reminds me of my mother. She would often cut fresh greens from her garden.

I use the battery operated candles, so I don’t have to worry about blowing them out.

Manicotti for the busy family

Homemade Manicotti

These is no doubt that fresh pasta is delicious, but it’s also a time consuming process and to produce a large quantity (I always seem to make large quantities of everything, after all I’m Italian!) takes a long time! So I opt for the pasta in the box for this recipe. I can tell you that if you follow this recipe you will not be disappointed, and your guests will be impressed and leave full! Anyone who visits us for the holiday knows to come hungry. Try my Homemade Manicotti. It is delicious and the entire process takes a little over one hour.  Mange!

Make use of those candy canes!

choc covered pretzels Make use of those candy canes this holiday season by sprinkling them on chocolate covered pretzels. Check out my recipe Chocolate Covered Pretzels. In lieu of the sprinkles, just mash up some candy canes. I use the back of a large spoon and mash them inside the plastic wrapper.  Then pour the pieces into a bowl, and follow my recipe. The outcome as you can see is amazing, and it takes such little time. Happy Holidays!!!
